As development and investment in cleantech in Louisiana continues to grow, new efforts continue to pop up to support that industry.
GNOINC, the New Orleans regional economic development leader, launched its Sustainable Industries Initiative last month to support green business and cleantech. The program focuses on 13 sectors identified as strong “fits” for southeastern Louisiana, including Coastal restoration and protection, “Green” hazardous waste management, Advanced biofuels, Disaster mitigation and management, Wastewater management, Clean technologies for oil and gas, Waste to energy, Sustainable Agriculture , Bioengineering, Waste heat recovery, Sustainable aquaculture, Biorefinery development, and Wind turbine component manufacturing.
