Bossier Digital Media Center Planned

Bossier City plans to construct the digital media center on the national Cyber Research Park campus as another means to facilitate the digital media sector.

The Center will house companies, education programs and include a place to do training and testing.  The Cyber Innovation Center (CIC) the anchor tenant at the park, will help coordinate and manage the Center.  The CIC helps foster collaboration, accelerate technology transfer, and help develop a high-tech workforce for the region.  Bossier City hopes to leverage the recent success of the Digital Media Tax Incentives to facilitate economic growth in the region.

The $26 million projected is allocated $500,000 in House Bill 2 for architectural design work. The money is the same funding previously appropriated to the media center, which was never utilized, state Rep. Jane Smith said.

The city expects to receive the design money in the fall and then make another application for $1.5 million for the next year.
