Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week schedule features a broad variety of events

The full schedule has been released for Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week to be held November 11-18th, 2011. The week is designed to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit, create a sense of community among local entrepreneurs, highlight the assets of the region, and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. The week features a variety of speakers, events, and activities for anyone involved with the Silicon Bayou. Highlighted events include:

Startup Weekend, a fifty-four hour weekend event where developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and start-up enthusiast come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch start-ups. The winner will compete in the Global Startup Battle. Use the code BREW2011 for 20 percent off any ticket type.

EO Accelerator, hosted by the Entrepreneurs Organization, will give participants a taste of EO’s new accelerator program.

Louisiana Entrepreneurship Day, held at LSU, will focus on LSU’s role in helping students think entrepreneurially and grow ideas into businesses that will have a positive economic impact on the Louisiana economy and beyond. Keynote speakers will include two of the top student entrepreneurs in the world, Catherine Cook of myYearbook.com and Daniel Gomez Iniguez of SOLBEN Company.

Louisiana Entrepreneur Forum will feature a panel of top entrepreneurs from the corridor, plus questions from the audience. The panel discussion will be preceded by opening remarks from Adam Knapp, President and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC), including BRAC’s 2012 Economic Outlook presentation.

Women Business Leaders breakfast with Marlo Scott of Sweet Revenge will be an inspirational morning session and networking event with over one hundred women business leaders.

SeNSE Pitch Night will feature four area entrepreneurs who will each have ten minutes to pitch their business to the panel of experts in front of a live audience. RIO is bringing in venture capitalists from across the country and CMO Accelerator is bringing in a notable entrepreneur from New York to sit on the judges’ panel for this event. A cash prize will be given to the winner of Pitch Night.
