Last Minute Shopping: The 2011 E-Gift Guide

If you’ve delayed your holiday shopping down to the last minute – don’t fear, we’ve compiled a list of gifts you can give electronically – many of which will keep giving all year long.

Birchbox

Birchbox has taken the make-up world by storm this year by providing a monthly subscription box of samples and special products. Surprise the stylish lady in your life with a few months of the subscription service or with a gift card to purchase her favorite product from the box: Birchbox.com.

Dropbox

Cloud storage options continue to flood the market – but we’ve found Dropbox to be the clear winner to date. Free accounts include 2GB of free storage, but a Premium account at $9.99/month jumps up to 50GB of freely accessible cloudspace. The service doesn’t offer official “gifts” but you can sign someone up for a new account if they don’t have one already: Dropbox.com.

Spotify

Spotify came to the U.S. earlier this year after the music streaming service saw big successes abroad. Regular accounts are free but premium accounts include commercial free listening, as well as access to the mobile app. Gifting premium isn’t available in the U.S. yet, but you can create a premium account for someone if they don’t have one, or work out another way to upgrade someone’s existing premium account: Spotify.com.

Hulu Plus

TV on-the-go is easier than ever with a subscription to Hulu Plus. With gift subscriptions starting at $7.99 for 1 month and up to $95.88 for a full year, there is a level for anyone on your list: Hulu.com.

Evernote

Keep your loved ones organized with a Premium subscription to Evernote. At $5.00/month and $45/year, the Premium account is a bargain that includes a slew of extra features: Evernote.com.

Flickr Pro

For the amateur or pro photographer in your life, Pro accounts to Flickr can help get their art out into the world. The $24.95/year gift can be used for a new Pro account or added to the subscription of an existing account: Flickr.com.

When all else fails – Amazon!

It’s hard to go wrong with an e-gift card from Amazon. From Kindle books, music downloads, or a year’s subscription to Prime, there is something for everyone available on the web’s giant. Amazon will send a customized e-mail with your gift or you can print it directly from the website and give it yourself: Amazon.com.
