Audiosocket, founded in 2007, is a company with a harmonious intersection between music and technology. It is a music licensing and technology company allowing users to access an easy-to-use database at a reasonable price. Audiosocket is launching Audiosocket U. for student filmmakers seeking an affordable music licensing solution.

Music licensing is a huge challenge within the filmmaker community. Audiosocket U. is an important resource for budget conscious students who want quality and a wide selection. Finding the music with ease allows students to enjoy that part of the creative process, instead of worrying about selection and price. As an added benefit, nobody is stealing others’ Intellectual Property because students can legally license music for around $5. The company helps users understand and respect copyright law.

The database offers about 35,000 songs from more than 2,100 emerging artists and composers. Student filmmakers can access this music when they need it for their films and media. When a school signs-up with Audiosocket, the institution receives an annual donation. So far, Audiosocket U. already licenses to 20 schools around the world.

This is Audiosocket’s third Music-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, which is a music search and licensing technology completely designed by the company. Audiosocket U. is full hosted and managed by Audiosocket. Other recent MaaS partnerships include IndieFlix, The National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) and Vimeo.
