InnoGenomics Continually Raising Money for DNA Testing

Local startup and DNA testing company InnoGenomics is making headlines again for their progress in the phases or research and testing the company has done. Last year the company was awarded $150,000 for DNA identification from the National Science Foundation. Since then, InnoGenomics has raised even more. We covered the news that the company has been awarded up to $1 million from the same foundation to advance research to optimize a DNA test. In the next few months they plan to move onto the next phases of product development and raise an additional $1 million through private investors.

First Annual Turner BioChallenge to be Held in October

The first annual Turner BioChallenge will be hosted by the New Orleans BioInnovation Center(NOBIC) on October 12th, 2012. The event is designed to showcase the leading life science startups in the region and is currently searching for innovators and entrepreneurs to compete for the top prize: startup funding, three months of free work-space, and assistance in the development of their business plan. The latter is in conjuction with the NOBIC commercialization team and the Tulane Entrepreneurship Association. More information can be found by emailing biochallenge@neworleansbio.com.
