Top College Startup Big Fish Presentations Continues to Expand

Founded just last year, Baton Rouge-based college startup Big Fish Presentations is already making a splash. The 11 person team, over half of them students at LSU, take the typical boring presentation and turn it into something interesting and beautiful to catch everyone’s attention. They design artfully crafted slideshows for companies like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, Raising Cane’s, Voodoo BBQ, and many more.

Nguyen started this company with around $1,000. Now, the projected revenue for 2012 is $150,000 – $175,000. Big Fish Presentations should be noted for its young, mostly student talent and the overall energy of the company.

The team said their most fun client to date was Tony Chachere. According to Kristen Hinton, Marketing and Sales Direction, Tony’s let them visit the headquarters and see how everything is made.

There’s something to be said about living the startup life. Hinton said, “I love working with the best talent. The team is full of creative minds, risk takers, and goof balls. We learn from each other. Working at Big Fish also allows me to work on campaigns and projects that I would never have the opportunity to work on elsewhere.”

The Big Fish Presentations team hopes to partner with more event companies within the next six months to a year. They also hope to increase the quality of conferences and start on their book that’s in the works.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, Big Fish Presentations was named one of America’s Coolest College Startups by Inc. Magazine alongside other companies like TrueRSVP which predicts event attendance and iCracked, a phone fix-it service with both convenience and a great price point. Recently, Founder Kenny Nguyen placed second at regionals at the Global Student Entrepreneur Award Competition in Detroit. The competition is designed to attract top undergraduates participating in entrepreneurial endeavors.
