IdeaMensch Road Trip Brings Entrepreneurial Insights to 50 Stops, Includes New Orleans

IdeaMensch is a community of people who have set out to bring ideas to life, traveling to 50 venues across 48 states to do so. The IdeaMensch team cultivates interviews and profiles entrepreneurs across all walks of life. They will be in New Orleans tonight! The event will take place in the IP boardroom from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and will feature many of the entrepreneurs we already know in the Silicon Bayou, who will each spend ten minutes discussing their business ideas and how they were brought to life.

In a city with as much hustle and bustle as the next, New Orleans has a good number of meetups, especially tech meetups, already on the radar. But, there’s always room for more that will help us learn and grow, which is why teacher Jin-Soo Huh has recently announced the newest meetup in town, Ed Tech MeetUp: New Orleans. Teach For America is sponsoring the event and the group is hosting its first meetup on Wednesday, October 17, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bridge Lounge.

BlightStatus.com Launches Today to Bring Up-to-Date Property Information to City Residents

Code for America has teamed up with the City of New Orleans to make all of our lives easier. Instead of spending hours on the phone with various city departments or searching through a confusing website, now there is a simple solutions to get up-to-date information about blighted properties in the city. Last week, Mayor Landrieu and the Code for America team, along with Deputy Mayor Andy Kopplin and city officials, announced the launch of BlightStatus, a new website that brings in all the desired data to one place.
