Silicon Bayou News Welcomes Our New Editor-In-Chief, Julia Ballard!

Silicon Bayou is very happy to announce the promotion of Julia Ballard to Editor-In-Chief.  Julia replaces Molly Oehmichen, who has stepped down to concentrate on her consulting job.

Julia previously served as our Assistant News Editor, where she coordinated writers, sourced stories, and handled the nuts and bolts of SBN operations.  She is also a very talented writer and reporter with experience covering the startup and tech industry in Louisiana.  Julia has been serving as our de facto Editor-In-Chief for the past several months and has done a fantastic job writing, editing, sourcing, and helping with the launch of NOLA Meetup.

Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, Julia felt the call and moved to New Orleans in September 2011 after graduating from the University of Redlands in California.  Julia began working for Conversations in October 2011, where she works behind the scenes to keep social media content relevant and is quietly becoming the go-to girl for SEO in New Orleans.

If you ever have questions, comments, suggestions, or general rants please feel free to contact her directly by email: julia@siliconbayounews.com and follow her on twitter .  Congrats Julia!
