Idea Village Hosts Harvard MBA as Part of IDEAinstitute and MBAs Across America

NOEWThe Idea Village is hosting this week’s IDEAinstitute session today at 3:00 PM. Brand strategist and current Harvard MBA Amaris Singer, who is in New Orleans for the week as part of MBAs Across America, will be presenting Brand Strategy Jumpstarter: Defining Your Startup’s Role in the World.

Singer is an experienced brand strategist with a background working at Wolff Olins, Interbrand, and McKinsey. In this session, Singer will help attendees understand brand beyond the traditional definition of logo and identity and uncover how brand is the role your business plays in the world.

The MBAs Across America journey is taking four Harvard MBAs to eight cities over eight weeks to embed with and support entrepreneurs. Their past four weeks have been spent in Boulder, Montana, Las Vegas, and Albuquerque and now they are all in New Orleans.

MBA Casey Gerald, who will also be at the session today, said, “We tell [the entrepreneur’s] stories, roll up our sleeves to help tackle their biggest challenges, and build a lasting network of support in their city and beyond.”

“What started as a small idea to go against the grain for a summer has now become the start of a movement—imagine a roving Peace Corps for MBAs—that can enable a new generation of MBAs to do our part in revitalizing America…” said Gerald.

The Idea Village is hosting weekly sessions, released on a rolling basis, through February 2014. IDEAinstitute will include workshops, panels, keynotes and networking events. As always, each session is free and open to the public.

Those interesting in attending today’s IDEAinstitute can enroll for the session via The Idea Village Entrepreneur Portal.
