Announcing Tech Cocktail Social New Orleans!
On October 1st, Silicon Bayou News and Tech Cocktail are bringing the first ever Tech Cocktail Social to New Orleans. Register for the New Orleans Social here. This event will connect members of the tech and startup scene. Additionally, one BIG announcement will be made. Two startups will be chosen by Tech Cocktail to represent New Orleans at Tech Cocktail Celebrate in Las Vegas, a national startup competition and conference that expects over 500 attendees. NOLATech Week Schedule Released
NOLATech Week, a community weeklong event created by the people for the people, has officially released the schedule of events. The inaugural event, scheduled for October 7th through 12th, 2013 is planning to feature a range of events including: panels, meetups, speakers, competitions, demonstrations, job fairs and social events. Last week, they released a tentative schedule designed by local nonprofits, businesses, organizations and community groups.
Equity Endeavor Launches Crowdfunding Platform to Help 4 New Orleans Businesses
Today, the city-specific, rewards-based crowdfunding platform Equity Endeavor has launched, announcing the four companies chosen for the inaugural Equity Endeavor New Orleans Platform. Founders Broderick McClinton and Eric Sonnier designed Equity Endeavor to be a cost-effective way for business owners to raise funds outside of the traditional equity and lending types of financing. The four companies chosen to work with Equity Endeavor are: Birthmark Doula Collective, Couchster, Hollygrove Market and Farm and ShopLocalStyle.com.

Idea Village Releases Remaining IDEAinstitute Sessions for September
IDEAinstitute, hosted by The Idea Village for learning and connecting to fellow entrepreneurs, has released the schedule of remaining sessions through the month of September. Sessions take place every Wednesday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at The Idea Village. The rest of the schedule will be released on a rolling basis through February.
