The Idea Village announced today that there will be a replacement event for the usual Power Pitch during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. Demo Day @ NOEW, an invitation-only event, has been added to the lineup of nearly 70 events that will take place March 22 – 28, 2014.
The event is a chance for companies to connect with an audience of investors and show off what the entrepreneurial ecosystem in New Orleans has to offer.
Six startups, all representing new approaches to established local industries, have been chosen to present at Demo Day, including: APMT, SNAP Real Estate Photography, MobileQubes, Maritant, education everytime, and Your Nutrition Delivered.
“Demo Day @ NOEW was developed in direct response to New Orleans’ burgeoning angel community,” said Tim Williamson, Co-founder and CEO of The Idea Village. “It is our hope that the event will serve as a platform that will contribute to the continued momentum of local angels and emerging businesses.”
The Idea Village is also excited to announce the keynote for Demo Day, VoIP pioneer and Vonage co-founder Jeff Pulver. Pulver was an early investor in both Twitter and Foursquare.
