Propeller’s Social Venture Accelerator Offers Expanded Support to New Orleans Entrepreneurs

Propeller: A Force for Social Innovation is gearing up for its fourth Social Venture Accelerator, a 10-month program that connects early-stage social entrepreneurs with valuable resources and connections to achieve their social impact goals, systemic change and financial sustainability.

PropellerThe deadline to apply has been extended to this Friday, August 1st, 2014. The organization is seeking early-stage ventures with a high potential for growth that provide innovative and viable solutions to healthy food access, public health, public education, water management and other sectors that benefit underserved communities in New Orleans.

Accelerator fellows will get a chance to work with Lead Consultant and entrepreneurial development firm Trepwise founder Kevin Wilkins. Participants will also benefit from mentorship provided by successful entrepreneurs, including Mike Eckert, founder and former CEO of The Weather Channel, and John Elstrott, Chairman of Whole Foods Market.

Additional program benefits include free co-working space at the 10,000 square foot Propeller headquarters, one-on-one matchups with experienced and paid strategy consultants, pro bono assistance (legal, accounting, graphic design), increased visibility and access to networks.

This is also the first time that Propeller is offering a multi-track program, including a specific track for three chosen fellows solving water challenges who will receive $5,000 in cash.
