Code Immersion Program Tech Talent South to Debut in New Orleans

In keeping with their original mission of “doing something BIG,” rapidly growing startup, Tech Talent South is bringing their 8-week Code Immersion Program to New Orleans. Adding to the mix of great food, live music and rich culture that already defines the city, Tech Talent South (TTS) hopes to hit the ground running with their simple plan: get people coding!

Tech Talent SouthWith locations already established in Raleigh, Asheville, Charlotte and Atlanta, TTS boasts a boot camp for beginners that will give any eager, dedicated individual accelerated exposure to programming and web design.

Housed out of local social innovation hub, Propeller, TTS will spice up the NOLA tech scene with their classes beginning January 26th. Highlights of their Code Immersion Programs include jumping head first into:

  • Ruby on Rails
  • Domain Modeling for database-backed web applications
  • HTTP and “RESTful” design
  • HTML/CSS
  • JavaScript and AJAX
  • Understanding and utilizing APIs
According to TTS alumna, Kaitlin Littlejohn, “It’s always a satisfying feeling to create something. That’s what coding is for me. It’s having no limit (relatively) and having the freedom to be as creative as possible.” Here at Tech Talent, we can’t say we disagree.

TTS graduate and founder of Giusto, Randall Mardus, adds “Unlike my experience with online courses where it’s easy to fall behind quickly, TTS offers a tech support group. At first, the teachers support you. With time, the other students support you. By the end, you are supporting others. For me, this separated TTS from the others.”

TTS proudly offers female scholarshipsrecent graduate scholarships, and continuing education opportunities for local teachers at all levels. In addition, local digital design and software engineering pros,Revelry Labs will be sponsoring a passionate and persistent female applicant for the upcoming program. The chosen applicant will receive full TTS tuition and, (if you aren’t already jazzed enough about that), a new Macbook!Interested in joining their inaugural cohort in NOLA?
