New Orleans Women in Technology Hosting Free GitHub Workshop

New Orleans Women in Technology (WIT) will be hosting a GitHub Workshop titled “Effectively Using Git & GitHub for Your Future” at Tulane University on April 18th.

GitHub 101 New Orleans WITThe workshop is free and open to the public, but only a few spots remain. Participants do not need prior knowledge of code to attend.

Brent Beer, a member of the official GitHub Training team, will be instructing the four hour workshop that will take a look at effective ways to use the GitHub web platform, understand proper development flow, and how to collaborate with  your team on projects.

GitHub is an online version management software used at technology firms, development companies and more.

Jaelle Scheuerman, New Orleans WIT board member said, “Version control software such as GitHub has become an essential part of any developer’s toolkit. We’re excited offer this free workshop for people interested in software development, whether its for work or just for fun.”

Beer has used GitHub for over five years now through university classes, contributions to open source projects, and professionally as a web developer.
