The startup participated in the New Orleans-based Launch Program with 4.0 Schools in the fall of 2014 and has been in the big easy ever since.

Co-founder Mirta Desir heard that a Mandarin Chinese program was abruptly cut from a New Jersey public school and has decided to offer free sessions for both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish for the first 1,000 public school students who sign up.

“What a child learns in school when they are young has a tremendous impact on a child’s access to opportunity, be it college, a career, or life in general,” said Desir. “The fact that all students do not have a robust curriculum, such as one that contains early secondary-language exposure beginning in  pre-kindergarten, causes children to miss an opportunity to receive the tools for the best possible future.”
