LookFar is a local software development studio and a major sponsor of New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW). The festival of entrepreneurship kicks off March 11 and runs through March 18 on Fulton Street in downtown New Orleans.
The NOEW calendar features over 100 unique events, from entrepreneur showcases, to engaging panels and workshops, to industry-specific summits and networking happy hours.
LookFar has scheduled several events that will take place in the LookFar Tent outside of Manning’s restaurant.
On Monday, March 14, they have partnered with Electric Girls to produce a 6-hour workshop with middle and high school aged girls. The students will get to meet tech mentors in the community throughout the 6-hour workshop as they also work in teams on STEM-focused projects.
Open Mic Night is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, March 15 from 7-9 pm in partnership with The Distillery, a blog dedicated to sharing the real experiences of entrepreneurs in New Orleans.“This event is the antithesis of the pitch competition,” explains LookFar. “It’s an opportunity for entrepreneurs to share the backstory behind their business and the entrepreneurial experience.”
The event is open to anyone. Entrepreneurs can apply to speak on the LookFar website, or just stop by and listen.
Last but not least, LookFar is hosting their marquee event, Tech Speed Dating, on Wednesday, March 16 from 2-4 pm. This second annual event lets anyone with a tech conundrum sit down for a 15-20 minute whiteboard and brainstorming session with two of our developers, one front-end and one back-end.
LookFar says they expect the majority of the dates will be idea-stage startups who are looking for early tech direction, but it’s also open to larger and established businesses who are considering adding new tech or developing a new product. Those looking to participate can apply here so you can be matched with the tech team that is the best fit.
