Video Game Publisher Responsible for The Sims, Guitar Hero to Speak at ACG Luncheon

ACG Louisiana is regional chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), a non-profit organization, created to facilitate the networking of business professionals across Louisiana and surrounding areas.

Each year, ACG Louisiana hosts several luncheons with guest speakers. The June luncheon will feature Activision VP and leader in the gaming industry Ben Bell on June 7. Activision is a well-known video game publisher that was the first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles.

Ben is responsible for the Guitar Hero Franchise at Activision, the world’s largest video game publisher. For 18 years Ben Bell has been a leader in the video game industry, shipping hit products on time and on budget, building excellent organizations, and unlocking new possibilities in interactive entertainment. He has both created and managed successful brands, creating new value and extending brands’ profitable life indefinitely.

Before joining Activision Ben served as Executive Producer and General Manager at EA Games, where he launched and managed The Sims 3 franchise, generating >$1B in revenue. A global hit, The Sims 3, expansion products and ports have sold over 32M units.

While at EA Games Ben established a Maxis development studio in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he recruited and hand-picked leaders to create a new development culture. He transitioned The Sims 3 brand to a digital business model by growing downloadable content revenue nearly 100% over a two year period.
