Louisiana Entrepreneur’s Sales Spike Following Shark Tank Appearance

A teenager from Louisiana was called the “smartest 17 year old in the world,” after accepting a $150,000 investment for a 10 percent stake of the company from Shark Tank judge Robert Herjavec.

Jack Danos and his father Jeff appeared on the September 30 episode of Shark Tank with their invention, TactiBite Fish Call, an electronic device to help fishermen catch more fish.

The Mandeville-based teen is not only an inventor but also a web developer, engineer and designer, all key elements that help make TactiBite a success. Sales have soared since the show aired and the duo are expecting more than $2 million in revenue by the end of 2016.

TactiBite raised $112,573 on Kickstarter, far more than the original $10,000 goal, leading the father-son team to begin mass producing the product.

We’re not professional fishermen — we’re the guys who used to go out fishing and sometimes come back empty handed,” said the TactiBite team. “We’re always looking for better ways to do things, and that’s how we came up with The TactiBite Fish Call.”
