Win a Copy of ‘Whiplash: How to Survive Our Faster Future’

Silicon Bayou News has partnered with Grand Central Publishing to give away two copies of Whiplash: How to Survive Our Faster Future, a book released earlier this month as a guide to adapting and thriving in the 21st century.

The book, written by Joi Ito, director of MIT’s Media Lab, and Wired contributor Jeff Howe, who coined the term “crowdsourcing,” is filled with case studies and research and philosophies about succeeding in an unpredictable world.

Walter Isaacson, author of The Innovators: How a Group of Hackers, Geniuses, and Geeks Created the Digital Revolution and president and CEO of the Aspen Institute said, “This book is a brilliant and provocative guide to reading the tea leaves of technological change. It’s a great mix of stories, analysis, and practical tips. Read it or get left behind.”

As tools become faster, cheaper, and smaller, every aspects of society is transforming, “just as billions of strangers around the world are suddenly just one click or tweet or post away from each other,” reveals the book summary. “When these two revolutions joined, an explosive force was unleashed that is transforming every aspect of society, from business to culture and from the public sphere to our most private moments.”
