SEED Center Business Incubator Seeks Next Big Idea

Venture capitalist and Y Combinator co-founder Paul Graham famous said, “You need three things to create a successful startup: to start with good people, to make something customers actually want, and to spend as little money as possible.”

“Most startups that fail do it because they fail at one of these,” he continues. “A startup that does all three will probably succeed.”

The SEED Center Business Incubator is looking for the next big startup in Southwest Louisiana. The organization is now accepting applications for its 5th annual pitch competition. Startups from Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff Davis Parishes are invited to apply.

Angels of Southwest Louisiana are awarding $2,500 to the winner (individual or team) in each of the following divisions:

  • College students from the 5 parish area
  • Local high school students
  • General Business
  • Technical sector

Through the pitch, the SEED Center hopes to increase awareness of the organization, the event, and grow entrepreneurship in local region.
