The Garden District Book Shop in New Orleans has a very special guest scheduled to speak the evening of May 9. Facebook COO and author of Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead, Sheryl Sandberg, will be in town promoting her new book, co-authored with Adam Grant.
Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resistance, and Finding Joy is about exactly that. “After the sudden death of her husband, Sheryl felt certain that she and her children would never feel pure joy again,” shared the bookshop. “Her friend Adam, a psychologist at Wharton, told her there are steps people can take to recover and even rebound.”
Sandberg will be joined by Mary Matalin for a conversation about building resilience and moving forward after life’s inevitable setbacks. They will discuss the capacity of the human spirit to persevere, and to rediscover joy.
