Shreveport’s Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program Celebrates Three Years Supporting Startups

The Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP) in Shreveport, Louisiana, recently celebrated three years in operation highlighting and supporting entrepreneurs in the area.

Located at the Biomedical Research Foundation, EAP prepares companies to present to members of investor funds.

To date, the program has vetted 440 companies and ideas, provided services to 185 startups, and added 43 startups to the EAP portfolio. Twenty four startups have been launched and are represented on the EAP Wall of Entrepreneurial Achievement.

The companies we are recognizing are those that are within the EAP portfolio and working with our financial analysts and other staff to advance key milestones and create good, high-paying jobs, and solid business plans,” said Dave Smith, executive director of EAP.

Forty nine million dollars in capital has been generated by startups linked to EAP. “This is new investment coming into Caddo Parish, spurring economic growth and helping launch potentially high-growth companies,” continued Smith.
