Gameloft Reportedly Closes New Orleans Office

Yesterday reports began swirling that the New Orleans office of Gameloft, a French video game published, had closed.

The New Orleans studio is the latest of several Gameloft offices to face closure or significant layoffs in the past few years,” shared Alissa McAloon of Gamasutra, who also reported the office closure.

The New Orleans office was first opened back in August 2011. At the time, the company was expecting to hire over 150 staff at the location by 2021,” writes Ric Cowley, Deputy Editor of Gamer.biz. Now, up to 40 employees have been laid off by Gameloft.

A unnamed source has been speaking to at least one of the gamer-focused media outlets about the office closure, and then local studio manager Matthieu Brossard confirmed the closure with NOLA.com.
