The word coworking was first used in 1999 to describe collaborative work. Today, coworking spaces are prevalent across the globe.

New Orleans has its own crop of coworking spaces. Over the last few years, the number of coworking spaces in the Big Easy has more than doubled.

We’ve rounded up as many of the New Orleans spaces and details we could find. Check out the list, in alphabetical order, below:

4.0 Schools

  • About: This early-stage education incubator offers a space for coworking and private offices that explicitly supports education organizations.
  • Year Founded: 2010
  • Square Footage: 3,393
  • Pricing: Depending on the whether you opt for a floating or dedicated desk, or an office, prices range from $100 to $450.
  • Number of tenants: 10

Art Egg Studios

  • About: Located in a former warehouse, Art Egg Studios provides temporary and long term rental for creative individuals and businesses. Current tenants include Youth BreakOut, Grassroots, the Atelier Vie distillery, National Medical Fellowships, Makers of New Orleans and Studio 101.
  • Year Founded: 2001
  • Square Footage: 50,000
  • Pricing: $350-$3,500 with units of various layouts ranging from from 120 square feet to 5.000 square feet.

Beta

  • About: Beta offers dedicated workstations and private offices for individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
  • Year Founded: 2012
  • Pricing: Prices range from $495 to $895 per month.

Club Discovery

  • About: Located in the heart of the Bywater, Club Discovery is a flexible work space for growing start-ups, remote workers, and creative entrepreneurs. At Club Discovery you’re becoming part of a learning, growing and forward-facing community that cares about fun, work, art, and living life well. This full-service work space offer members free parking, 24/7 access, free iced coffee and beer, conference room access, outdoor space, full kitchen, game room, and more.

  • Pricing: Coworking Memberships are priced at $200, Assigned Desks start at $350 a month, and Private Offices start at $650

Culture-Up

  • About: This smaller space is tailored to cultural innovators to collaborate with peers and leaders within the creative industries. Each new member receives a one-year membership to the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce.
  • Year Founded: 2015
  • Square Footage: 180
  • Pricing: They have space for a total of 12 individuals with the cost for one desk space at $250 and the “nook,” which is two desks, is $450.

Harbor Community Collective

  • About: The Harbor Community Collective (HCC) is dedicated to serving churches and helping impact the community as a philanthropic organization serving the Greater New Orleans area. HCC is committed to its faith-based Vision of improving the ability of the church, its ministries and other organizations working to make an impact. HCC boasts a rentable meeting center as well as a vibrant coworking office community with membership and office space available for rent.

  • Pricing: Co-working memberships are priced at $200 per month, Dedicated Desks are $325 per month, and private offices starting at $575 per month.

Icehouse

  • About: The Icehouse is an entrepreneurial environment housing designers, media artists, entertainment companies, startups, and social innovators.
  • Year Founded: 2010

  • Pricing: $500 per desk, which can fit two people.

Landing Zone

  • About: Landing Zone is an entrepreneurial coworking, office and event space with tenants who are both military veterans and non-veterans. There is an additional 7,000 square feet of space for event rentals.

  • Pricing: Monthly coworking starts at $200, bumps up to $300 for a permanent desk, and office space ranges from $600 to $1,600 per month.

Launch Pad

  • About: Launch Pad is a place for small businesses and entrepreneurs to share a workspace. In February 2017 they moved over to a downtown office tower, more than doubling the size of their space.

  • About: The BioInnovation Center offers various leasing options from cubicles to full office suites, in addition to small and large lab space options. The incubator currently houses businesses in numerous industries from health, biotech, and environmental startups to professional service firms and small non-profit organizations.

  • Pricing: Cubicles begin at $250 and private offices start at $600 per month.

Propeller Incubator

  • About: Propeller is a local nonprofit focused on solving the city’s biggest social and environmental challenges through entrepreneurship. The incubator welcomes individuals, businesses, nonprofits, students, and foundations who care about making a difference in the city.

  • Pricing: Drop in for the day with a $20 coworking pass, or become a member with prices ranging from $150 to $300.

Riverbend: A Creative Collective (Closed)

  • About: Riverbend is not just a coworking space, but a place where  creatives work, create and showcase their ideas. They recently relocated a few doors down from the original location.
  • Year Founded: 2016
  • Square Footage: 1,800
  • Pricing: Rates start at $20 per day and dedicated space starts at $250 per month.
  • Number of tenants: 15

Scale Workspace

  • About: The Mission of Scale Workspace is to support and encourage the physical production of innovative products, devices, designs, and art here in New Orleans. It’s part coworking space, part makerspace.
  • Year Founded: 2019
  • Pricing: Coworking memberships are $375 per month, reserved desks are $550 per month, and private offices range from $1,200 per month to $4,000 per month and can seat between two and eight people.

The Blue House

  • About: As one of the newer coworking spaces, The Blue House offers workspace for members are committed to collaborative work, civic discourse, and community engagement.
  • Year Founded: 2014

  • Pricing: $15 per day, $50 for community pass, $175 for part time pass good for three days per week, and $250 for a full time membership.

The Shop at the CAC

  • About: The Shop at the CAC is New Orleans’ newest co-working space located on the upper floors of the historic Contemporary Arts Center in the city’s Innovation Corridor. The art-filled, full-service co-working space offers 24/7 access, free coffee and beer on tap, a furnished rooftop deck, conference room access, and more.
