The Aspen Institute to Bring Tech-Focused Socrates Salon to New Orleans

The Aspen Institute Socrates Program is bringing a new event to New Orleans October 11-12. Socrates New Orleans Salon, hosted in partnership with the New Orleans Business Alliance, will bring together thought leaders to explore how emerging technology trends are impacting education, business and society.

“New Orleans is becoming known as a city for creators and innovators, the very type of people that are driving the economy’s future growth,” shared The Aspen Institute. “Just in the last year, high tech companies like DXC Technology, a worldwide Fortune 250 company, and Austin-based Accruent, joined GE Digital, IBM, Align, and iMerit in choosing New Orleans for new hubs.”

The Salon, “Change and Opportunity: The Future of Work and Learning,” will specifically focus on the future of work and learning amidst the rise of technology and innovation.

“The Aspen Institute Socrates Program is honored to partner with NOLABA to bring Dr. Connie Yowell, a national leader on the future of work and education, to New Orleans,” said Socrates Program Executive Director Cordell Carter. “With some recent and significant technology announcements taking place in New Orleans, what better place than the Big Easy to launch a debate and exploration of the future of work and innovation?”
