The Idea Village Kicks Off Another Entrepreneurial Season

New Orleans-based entrepreneurial support organization The Idea Village has officially kicked off another season.

Twelve businesses have been selected for the organization’s startup accelerator program VILLAGEx. Five additional companies are joining ENERGYx, The Idea Village’s accelerator focused on supporting and growing energy, coastal construction, and water management businesses.

“Our accelerator program is at the core of why The Idea Village exists,” said Jon Atkinson, CEO of The Idea Village. “The mission of the program is to help businesses that have already proven some success take that success to the next level, benefitting not only the founders and their employees, but also the New Orleans economy and job market as a whole.”

The accelerator programs will culminate at a demo day in April. “The program helps emerging companies build the foundation of a successful, high-growth company,” shared The Idea Village team.

To qualify for the VILLAGEx cohort, applicants must have a new or unproven business model with the potential to revolutionize how business is conducted in a particular industry, leverage new technology to improve a business process or bring a new product to market, or serve a new or niche market in an innovative way.

The twelve ventures in the VILLAGEx this year include: Addiguru, Block Lawncare, Blockpad, Culturalyst, DOCPACE, Gilded, Oh Shoot, PeakSeason, Rx Interactive, Inc., SafePush, Unlock’d, and Youni Company.

Companies participating in ENERGYx include Chustz Surveyin, Crescent City Clean Technologies, Geaux Water, Inzio, and Natrx.
