NewOrleans.com has launched a renovated website with a more targeted focus on those looking for travel information about New Orleans. The new website allows travelers to plan and book trips with expert insider information about New Orleans.
First launched in 1995, NewOrleans.com has primarily been a hospitality portal. When someone plans a trip, NewOrleans.com, the most intuitive and recognizable web address for the city, is the first place they go to find out where to stay, where to eat and what to do.
Several weeks ago, the NewOrleans.com management team switched gears on its travel booking engine. The site is now powered by Cyllenius, the technology and solutions division of VEGAS.com. NewOrleans.com combines Cyllenius’ unique easy-to-use travel shopping cart technology with an in-depth online travel guide. The site’s content was created and will be maintained by experts who live and breathe New Orleans every day. Its focus is on providing visitors an unparalleled content and technology experience to make planning and booking a trip as easy as possible.
“We’re thrilled to see the updated site launch with the VEGAS.com technology in place,” said Don Jones, CEO of NewOrleans.com. “Our focus remains on making vacation planning to New Orleans as easy and convenient as possible, while also providing useful information and recommendations within the content pages. We aim to be the one-stop-shop for all visitors to our city.”
The site claims that today it generates millions of unique visits per year from individuals planning to visit the New Orleans area, although according to Quantcast and Compete, the site only generates between 240,000 – 740,000 uniques/year.
