Net2NO is having its third annual BBQ and crawfish boil this weekend at City Park in New Orleans. Its a great opportunity to meet people, enjoy the park, and get some good food!
Net2NO (pronounced “NetSquared New Orleans”) is known as the “granddaddy tech and startup community” in New Orleans. Founded in 2008 as a way to get local entrepreneurs, innovators and tech people into the same room, it has grown from a mere 30 members to over 700 people, and it’s the fourth largest Net2Local meetup group in the world (out of 75 total).
Where: The Peristyle in City Park
When: Saturday, June 4th, 1pm – ‘til we get bored (i.e. run out of food/beer)
Who: Everybody! Net2NO Members, Spouses, Children, Friends, Etc.
Why: Because your spouse wants to know why you’re out till 1 a.m. the first Tuesday of every month, and because quality time with Net2NO folk needs to happen more often than once a month!
You can find more about it here.
NetSquared Local groups hold monthly events that take place in cities around the world (ours are the first Tuesday of every month, from 6-9 pm at Le Chat Noir), convening changemakers to share ideas, learn from each other, and even collaborate on projects for real world impact. These gatherings provide a chance to connect for all those interested in the intersection of social technologies and social change. In New Orleans, it’s also an opportunity for likeminded people to get together and drink, be inspired, and meet amazingly talented individuals who are doing great things in our city. June’s meetup is called MiniBar and is being held on June 7. You can find out more here.
