Drop the Chalk, the edutech startup founded by Jennifer Schnidman Medbery, is growing fast. The New Orleans startup’s new software app, Kickboard, will be used in classrooms in 9 cities for the 2012-2013 school, doubling their reach for the second year in a row.
And soon, the software will be premiering in two nationally recognized teacher training programs. To help fuel their growth, they are hiring two senior level positions (senior software engineer and director of customer experience).
Some key highlights to share –
- Drop the Chalk has branded their software app as Kickboard, and encourage teachers to “be data driven, not data drowning.”
- New customers are signing up daily. Kickboard will be used by schools in 9 different cities across the country in 2012-2013. And they are experiencing about 100% year over year growth for the second year in row.
- They are also piloting Kickboard in two premiere, nationally-recognized teacher preparation and training programs. Details are forthcoming.
- To fuel their growth, Drop the Chalk closed a $750,000 round of angel funding this spring with a fantastic group of investors.
