The Idea Village, one of the top startup acclerators in New Orleans, is now accepting applications for its seed accelerator program, the Idea Village Entrepreneur Challenge (IVEC). IVEC offers a six-month accelerator program to high-impact, scalable startups, complete with one-on-one coaching from established entrepreneurs, local and national networking, up to $200,000 startup capital, and training in startup fundamentals.
IVEC believes in working collaboratively to overcome hurdles to starting and growing a business: it’s already helped IVEC alum like Life City, SensPak, and Drop the Chalk secure over $26 million of investment and create 200+ jobs.
During this six-month business accelerator program, a select group of New Orleans startup ventures will be invited to partner with The Idea Village to identify and address key growth challenges. The Idea Village Entrepreneur Challenge will culminate with NOLApitch, March 16, 2012 during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, during which the best startup venture in New Orleans will be selected by a live audience and have an opportunity to receive $100,000 in seed capital and a suite of resources to develop your business in New Orleans.
Participants of Idea Village Entrepreneur Challenge will gain access to a variety of resources, including: Executive in Residence: Experienced entrepreneurs to provide direct support and coaching, Mentorship & Support from a network of over 500 individuals, Access to Capital Networks, including banks, angel investors and venture capital investors,PR and Marketing: Promotion in local and national publications,Education: Forums, workshops and strategy sessions with professionals.
