NOLADex.org – The Digital Rolodex of the NOLA Creative and Tech Community – Only a few weeks old, NOLADex.org has become New Orleans’ top image-rich, digital rolodex of the many talented people in New Orleans creative, startup, and tech communities. Legal start-up DepoNOLA tackles depositions – A New Orleans startup called DepoNOLA is taking on the time-consuming task of turning lengthy depositions, or witness testimonies, into concise summaries for local lawyers. While working for a local attorney, founder Randon Johnson realized that the days he and other legal support staff spent drafting such documents could be saved by moving the job out of the office — if there was a suitable alternative in the marketplace.

UNO Study Extols Benefits Of Broadband Access For Regional Economy – A few weeks ago at the University of New Orleans, a press event was held to release a study titled “An Assessment of Business Opinion Regarding Expansion of Broadband Access in Louisiana.” The study was coordinated by UNO’s Division of Business and Economic Research and the Internet Innovation Alliance (IIA), an organization promoting broadband access, particularly in areas which are rural and underserved.
Globalstar Hits Milestone Exceeding 100 Jobs After Moving From Silicon Valley to Covington – Yesterday, Globalstar hit the company’s milestone in exceeding 100 Louisiana jobs with the company’s headquarter relocation from Silicon Valley to Covington. One year after announcing the move to Louisiana, the company now employs 114 direct jobs. Globalstar, which recently raised $38 Million and invested in travel time forecaster TrafficCast International, is on track to reach 185 jobs at its Covington headquarters…
