Hollywood Film Studio Opens Shop In New Orleans

Quixote Studios,  the Los Angeles-based film and photo studio that supplies film production crews throughout the country with grip, camera and construction equipment opened a new location in New Orleans at 929 Euterpe St. earlier this month.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced the opening of their shop yesterday.  “We welcome Quixote to New Orleans. Quixote Studios’ expansion to our city speaks to the industry’s confidence in doing business here. With $355 million in direct spending in the New Orleans film industry in 2010 and $325.5 million in 2011 so far, the demand is definitely here,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu.“Quixote Studios has been growing over the past several years in production support for shoots in Los Angeles, Boston, New York, and now New Orleans. We are very excited to be in New Orleans and look forward to working with the film and production community in the Big Easy,” said Mikel Elliott, CEO of Quixote Studios.

Landrieu’s office noted that New Orleans boasts one of the most diverse portfolio of film and television work in the country, with more movies filmed in Louisiana in 2010 than in California.
