Naked Pizza, the New Orleans-based good-for-you pizza chain, is opening the doors of their first New York City location today. They shouted out last night on their NYC Twitter account, “Done crossing the “t”s. All we gotta do is dot the “i” in pizza! Here we come NYC! TOMORROW!”
According to co-founder Robbie Vitrano, the newest franchise will open in Midtown Manhattan at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 57th Street. The company announced the NYC franchise agreement almost a year ago. The New York City region group is headed by Mitchell Krupp and Richard Jacobson and includes several notable professional athletes and well-known New York figures.
In other Naked news, Robbie Vitrano is speaking at Beyond Cause Marketing in Cambridge, Massachusetts this Friday. He is expected to speak on Naked Pizza’s efforts, “fueling the global expansion of socially conscious, highly wired consumer brand disrupting the less-than-healthy pizza market.” Another notable presenter at the event is Sloane Berrent, New Orleans ex-pat and recently appointed Vice President of Digital Strategy at Lippe Taylor & ShopPR in New York.
