Rare Cuts founder shares mouth watering business advice on local news

Finding the perfect steak used to be no easy task, but Henry Albert, founder of Rare Cuts, has been changing that in a big way in New Orleans. With a mission of providing 5-star restaurant quality steaks directly to consumers, Rare Cuts opened their first retail shop in August of 2010 and now operates out of three locations.

When he was getting Rare Cuts off the ground in 2010, Rare Cuts received tremendous support from the entrepreneurial community as a member of the 2011 Idea Village Entrepreneur Challenge. During New Orleans Entrepreneur Week in March, Rare Cuts teamed up with MBA students from the Kellogg School of Management for the IDEAcorps MBA Challenge. The Kellogg MBA team presented a strategy for Rare Cuts to sell their products online and won the challenge.

On September 30th, Rare Cuts followed through and launched a new website (http://rarecuts.com) that includes e-commerce capabilities for customers wishing to order online and have products shipped anywhere in the Continental U.S.

They’ve gained the trust and recognition of local foodies for having great steaks, and this week gained attention from a local news outlet for their business acumen. Henry chatted with Chriss Knight of WGNO about their business success and even let her have a bite to eat. Check out the video clip here:
