Startup Weekend Baton Rouge Winner to Compete in Global Startup Battle


In coordination with Global Entrepreneurship Week and Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week, Louisiana’s second Startup Weekend is scheduled for November 11-13 in downtown Baton Rouge at The Lyceum. Startup Weekend is a 54-hour weekend event where developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and start-up enthusiast come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch start-ups.

The winner of the November Startup Weekend will compete in the Global Startup Battle, which will pit all worldwide Startup Weekend winners from this month’s Global Entrepreneurship Week events against each other in a virtual global battle with online voting. Registration and more information for Startup Weekend can be found at batonrouge.startupweekend.org. Louisiana Startup Weekend will take place at The Lyceum November 11th - 13th

Speakers scheduled to appear at Startup Weekend in Baton Rouge include Chris Schultz of Voodoo Ventures, Christopher Reade of Carrollton Technology Partners, and Czarina Walker of InfiniEDGE Software.  Louisiana’s first Startup Weekend Baton Rouge was held in April 2011. Of note, 300seats, a one-of-a-kind cultural hub and event series, was launched at that event. Another winning concept from the Baton Rouge event, Hagglebot, was pitched again and placed first at the Bay Area Startup Weekend in San Francisco.
