Back for the third year, BizCampNOLA is taking place this Saturday, March 10th, at the IP Building in New Orleans. BizCamp is an, “unconference,” similar to BarCamp, and is designed to facilitate conversation, collaboration, and mutual learning. Participants select which sessions will be presented at the beginning of the day and rotate between several rooms with 15-30 minute sessions.
According to the BizCampNOLA website, “Rather than featuring professional conference speakers, sessions are led by other entrepreneurs like you to give you the best down-to-earth, practical advice from people who’ve been through the same struggles you’re facing.”
Jessica Shahien of 504Ward and Andrew Larimer of GNO, Inc. are co-organizing the event. The unconference is free and lunch is provided thanks to sponsors including 504Ward, GNO, Inc., the Black MBA Association of New Orleans, Launch Pad, NetSquared New Orleans, SENO, and the Urban League of New Orleans’ Women’s Business Resource Center.
Activities will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with plenty of opportunities for networking and learning. Presentation topics already proposed include social media, web video production, branding and PR, rapid prototyping, e-commerce, and more.
