Skillshare co-founder Mike Karnjanaprakorn to speak at NOEW

New Orleans expat Mike Karnjanaprakorn moved to NYC a few years ago and launched Skillshare. The company has since spread to other cities, including New Orleans last August. Skillshare is an online community where the whole world becomes the classroom and everyone is a potential teacher. The tagline is, “learn anything, from anyone, anywhere.”

The concept enables a type of learning revolution, where users have access to learn and acquire skills that are not traditionally taught in schools. Since launching last spring, Skillshare has become available nationwide and hopes to expand internationally in the future. Think of it as learning 2.0.

Keynote

Mike is the third keynote this week at NOEW, speaking this afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. He will be discussing the highs and lows of his entrepreneurial journey as well as the importance of taking risks. He has been involved in a number of successful business ventures in the past and is a current advisor and investor through Collaborative Fund and a 2012 TED Fellow. More information about the keynote can be found on the Idea Village’s event calendar.

Mike is also in town with another member of the Skillshare team, Abigail Besdin (BD/Partnerships). Both team members will be attending the Skillshare happy hour at Capdeville tonight at 5:30 p.m. For more details or to register for happy hour with the Skillshare team click here.
