Four Baton Rouge area tech user groups are relocating their monthly meetings to the Louisiana Technology Park. The addition of new meetups further solidifies the Tech Park’s connection to the growing Baton Rouge startup and tech community.
“We actively sought out the groups as a way to add to the synergy we already have with our current companies and software developers,” said Tech Park executive director, Stephen Loy.
Beginning April 11th, from 5:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the Baton Rouge SQL Server User Group (BRSSUG), Baton Rouge .NET User Group (BRDNUG), Baton Rouge IT Pro User Group (BRITPRO) and Baton Rouge Windows Phone User Group (BRWPUG) will meet at the Park. Three of the groups previously met at LSU’s Tureaud Hall, while the Windows Phone group traditionally met at Sparkhound.
Tech meetups provide an opportunity to network with peers, hear from national and local speakers on new developments in technology and industry trends, share experiences, and work out shared problems. The meetings are free and open to users, administrators, developers, and students interested in the technologies and platforms.
“With a focus on technology and the tech community, newly renovated facilities and a population of attendees built-in, the Tech Park is going to be a great host for our monthly meetings,” said William Assaf, president of the SQL User Group.
