Young Professional Night next Wednesday
Next Wednesday, July 25 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, the New Orleans Chamber is hosting the Young Professional Night networking event at Eiffel Society. This event is a great networking opportunity, so bring your marketing material and business cards to help promote yourself and your business! It’s free Chamber Members, Future Members and Young Professionals and will include:
- Hors d’oeuvres
- Drink specials include $3 domestic beer and $5 glasses of red or white house wine
- Limited on-site parking available
Small Business Expo and Summit at Delgado
Congressman Cedric Richmond’s 2nd Annual Small Business Expo and Summit will help local small businesses grow and succeed. He is hosting the event in conjunction with Delgado Community College on August 22-23, 2012.
The summit will be on Wednesday, August 22 from 5:30pm – 9:00pm. A panel from federal agencies and local offices will be available to answer any questions and discuss how businesses can best participate in the federal procurement marketplace.
The expo will be on Thursday, August, 23 from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This day will host a number of presentations on topics including, financing your business, marketing your business to a federal agency, and small business assistance programs in your area.
In addition to the summit and expo, one local small business will receive the Louisiana 2nd Congressional District Small Business Award. To be eligible for this award, the company must be:
- Registered with the State of Louisiana as an active, for profit entity for a minimum of 2 years
- Headquartered within the boundaries of Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District
- Fall within the 2012 NAICS definition of a small business

Small Business Happy Hour at Irish House
Legal service planning company, Legal Shield, is hosting a Small Business networking event on Wednesday, August 1st from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Irish House, second floor. The Happy Hour will feature Fran Tarkenton, the former NFL player turned TV personality. There is no cost to attend, just the price of food and/or drinks, but RSVP is required.
