Site Seeks New Orleans Entrepreneurs for Under30CEO Contest

Under30CEO.com is searching for the next top entrepreneurs and business owners. They are holding a contest open to all industries in the following cities: New York, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, New Orleans, Austin, Seattle, Washington D.C., Boulder, and San Francisco. The company is set to discover the next generation of entrepreneurs across the 10 cities. With all of the entrepreneurial activity and success New Orleans has seen over the past couple years, it is no surprise that the city was chosen as one of the 10 for the contest.

The top 30 entrepreneurs from the cities will be announced this fall, after the closing of the awards process on September 15th. On October 1, 2012, the results of the contest will be published and read by up to 500,000 of the Under30CEO.com readers. This could mean even more coverage for the New Orleans entrepreneurial scene.

There are a few guidelines:

  • One founder must be under the age of 30 as of July 1st, 2012.
  • Your company must be based within 30 miles of one of the following cities:
    • New York, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, New Orleans, Austin, Seattle, Washington D.C., Boulder, San Francisco
  • Your company must meet at least ONE of the following metrics as of July 1st, 2012:
    • Between $50,000 – $10,000,000 in revenues
    • Between $50,000 – $10,000,000 in funding
    • Over 10,000 users

If you or your company meet these guidelines, register today to be considered for the contest.

Under30CEO judges will determine the winner, focusing on the metrics companies provide for revenues, funding, and number of users. Judges may ask to verify metrics. They are looking for quality businesses that are poised to grow in the coming years, which already so many of the New Orleans businesses are on track for doing.

Some of you may have caught the article circulating last week, “Who Wants to Be the Next Silicon Valley?” which discussed the key elements for a high-tech entrepreneurial and business climate. The article mentions Denver, Silicon Bayou, Silicon Beach, and Silicon Prairie. This contest presents New Orleanians with another opportunity to show people how successful our entrepreneurs and innovations truly are, how far we’ve come, and that we’re not slowing down.
