AARP and LivePitch Announce 10 Finalists for Health Innovation@50+ Event

On September 21st, 2012 the AARP Health Innovation@50+ LivePitch will be taking place at the New Orleans Convention Center. AARP and LivePitch put on this event to highlight startups in the 50 and over health technology field. Over 20,000 members and guests will be in attendance of this two day event to hear pitches from the ten ten finalists for the event that were announced earlier today.

According to the press release, the event will be host to a unique dual-pitch format. Not only are the startups pitching to the judges in attendance and to a crowd full of leading venture and angel investors, they have a chance to redirect pitches to a consumer audience in the afternoon. AARP members will be able to join the conversation through this activity and give invaluable feedback to the companies.

This year’s judges include: Clayton Lewis of Maveron, Brandon Hull of Cardinal Partners, Jeff Shoemate of UnitedHealth Group Alliances and Andy Donner of Physic Ventures. Lisa Suennen from the Psilos Group is emceeing the show.

The two grand prize winners – a Judges’ Winner and AARP Consumer Winner – will be recognized as leading the way in innovative healthcare technology. They will also receive prize packages, be given interview opportunities, and be put in the spotlight for being leaders in the field.
