Calling All App Developers: Enter for a Chance to go to SF with 4.0 Schools

4.0 Schools is looking for some amazing app developers to join the invite only hack day in Menlo Park, CA at the end of this month. They are looking for only two developers to head out for the day long competition taking place on September 27, put on in conjunction with Facebook and the Gates Foundation.

To get in on the action, send 4.0 Schools an email with examples of you work. And the best news? The two lucky developers selected to join the 4.0 team will have both their flights and hotel covered. It’s a great opportunity to expand outside of New Orleans and show coders and developers all over what this city can accomplish in such a short amount of time.

The 4.0 team and the two chosen developers will spend the day building apps to support middle, high school, and college students in:

  • Building social capital and an academically supportive peer group
  • Navigating the college admissions, financial aid, and matching processes
  • Seeing themselves as college graduates and developing personal pathways to graduation

4.0 Schools is a New Orleans-based community dedicated to solving the toughest problems in education. They focus on technology to help solve these problems and, according to Molly, they use words like prototyping, unbundling, and have fully embraced the idea of failing fast. In just ten hours at the end of the month, they surely can accomplish a lot.
