All About You: Max Walsh

Meet Max Walsh, Silicon Bayou News’ newest contributing writer. He’s a senior at Tulane who is interested in writing about venture capitalists, funding, and other finance news. As a Boston-area native, Max came down here for school and, like many of us, might not leave any time soon. Find him uptown or at the next NOLA Meetup and say hello. What is the most exciting thing you are working on right now?

Trying to figure out what I am doing after school. Right now the plan is to try and get a job with a business incubator in Sydney.

If you were stuck on an elevator for two hours, what one person (dead or alive) would you choose to be stuck with?

Bill Russell, I am a diehard Celtics fan and have always wanted to meet him.

IYO, which institution is most due for disruption?

Politics.

Tell us about your biggest failure.

Professionally I would say my biggest failure would be my role in DeliveryChamp. I severely underestimated the reluctance of restaurant owners and didn’t adopt a new strategy for approaching them quickly enough.

What are you most excited about happening on the Silicon Bayou that you aren’t directly involved in?

I worked at with Brendan Finke and Joe McMenemon at Chapterspot in the summer of 2011 and they are doing some amazing things. I got a chance to look at their new interface for Chapterspot and it looks incredible.
