All About You: Laurie Dickson

Laurie DicksonNew Orleans native Laurie Dickson is the New Orleans Managing Director at the creative agency Noble Mouse. She also has her own company, Lou Creative where she highlights her advertising skills. Laurie received her BFA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. Following graduation, she worked for twelve years at Peter Mayer. Throughout the years, she has worked with high-profile clients such as The New Orleans Saints, Luzianne Tea, Zatarains, and the Audubon Nature Institute.

What is the most exciting thing you are working on right now?

Right now, I am establishing my new business venture, Noble Mouse in this market. We are a digital advertising shop with amazing talent amassing over 100+ years of experience. We currently have offices here in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Savannah, Ga.

If you wrote a regular column for Silicon Bayou News what would it be about and what would you name it?

Creative Stalking – featuring companies, brands, products or people we all obsess about.

If you could win any award in the world, which would you be most proud to possess?

You’re an adult certificate (because that’s the only way I’d believe it).

If you were stuck on an elevator for two hours, what one person (dead or alive) would you choose to be stuck with?

Who needs elevators when you can fly?

IYO, which institution is most due for disruption?

Politics.

If you had to pick a drink to describe yourself (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) what would it be?

A smoothie – kinda healthy but really full of sugar.

Tell us about your biggest failure.

Personal time management? I take super long showers? Managing my shopping habit? Ummmmm, 7th grade algebra – twice?

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?

I can’t stand to be idle, ever. I typically start the day with coffee and a walk with my too cute for words dog.

If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Shawarma salad.

If you could live in any other time period, which would you choose?

A utopian future?

What are you most excited about happening on the Silicon Bayou that you aren’t directly involved in?

New Orleanian pride and community spirit of all things local. Citizens of New Orleans, life long residents or brand newcomers show a rock solid loyalty for the resilience of our city, our people and our culture.
