A local web design and development expert and a social media strategy company owner want to take your website “From Zero To Website in 3 Hours.” Class leaders Megan Hargroder, Founder of Conversations, and Alyson Kilday, co-founder of Hop and Jaunt, are hosting a hands-on class for startups and small businesses that want to get set up online.
Hargroder and Kilday want to help attendees understand and manage brands online with a working, organized website in just a few hours. The first class will be held on April 19th and a second, identical class will be held on April 22nd. The workshop is for those starting from square one all the way to those who have encountered a “web mess” from third party hosting sites.
“Hop and Jaunt, a creative design agency, has been building websites for local companies for several years now,” said Alyson Kilday. “Even though we offer web design and development for all sizes and budgets, there are still a lot of people who are bootstrapping and want to gain the skill set to actually do this themselves. WordPress is the perfect platform for that and it’s what we use for 99% of our web builds.”
Hargroder and Kilday suggest bringing the following digital format items to get the most out of the workshop: domain, hosting, photos to include on site, copy to be included on site, logos and graphics. They will also show attendees how to integrate social media, email marketing campaigns and other plug-ins into the website.
“The main reason I wanted to do this class is because I work with small business clients every who think that their struggles are with social media when really their problem is that their website isn’t working for them (and in some cases is working against them),” said Hargroder. “Aly and I wanted to work together to solve this on a really affordable level and I couldn’t be more excited that this is finally happening!”

- 2:30 – 3:30 Content and image uploading
- 3:30 – 4:00 Questions and troubleshooting
