Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Class Accepting Applications through April 29th

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small BusinessesApplications for the 2013 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses classes at Delgado Community College are now being accepted as announced by the university’s Chancellor Monty Sullivan last week. The 11-session business management program will be held on campus over a three-month period. The application deadline is next Monday, April 29th.

The program is offered free to business owners through the Goldman Sachs Foundation, but the selection process is competitive and only a limited number of seats are available. Qualifying applicants must have been in business for at least two years, employ at least four workers, earn revenues of at least $150,000 annually, and have a desire to grow their business.

New Orleans is entering its third program year to help local small business owners stimulate the economy through job creation and increased revenues. The program has served over 130 business owners in the area. The business management education classes are offered in addition to other support services including one-on-one advising, networking clinics, and opportunities to connect and boost business growth.

“The future of New Orleans and the heart of the economy are being built by an educated workforce that includes small business owners who live, work and raise families here,” said Chancellor Sullivan. “The 10,000 Small Businesses program at Delgado empowers these entrepreneurs with the skill set to go along with the mindset for growing a successful business.”
