The Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute (SEI), part of the business school at LSU, is preparing to announce the LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses by rank at the honoree luncheon on Friday, April 26th, 2013. The program recognizes and celebrates former LSU students for achievements in entrepreneurship in a number of fields including technology, oil and gas, insurance, healthcare, design, construction, manufacturing and public relations.
The LSU 100 is now in its third year, bringing in more interest from around the world than the previous two years. “We have had an overwhelming response this year with a 55% increase in applicants,” D’Agostino said. “We have honorees from 10 of LSU’s colleges, and our applicants this year hail from 18 states and two countries.”
Companies honored as part of this year’s LSU 100 meet the following requirements:
- Have been in business for five years or more
- Have verifiable revenues of at least $100,000 for 2009
- Have a former LSU student as owner of at least 50 percent of the company or as chief executive officer, president or a managing partner
- Operate in a manner consistent with the missions of LSU and SEI
“We look forward to welcoming the third class of LSU 100 honorees back to campus and reconnecting them with students, staff and faculty,” said Lisa O’Beirne, director of Development for SEI.
