At this time last year, Propeller was known only as Social Entrepreneurs of New Orleans (SENO). After the major rebrand was announced as the next wave of innovators and Propeller fellows prepared to solve the toughest social and environmental challenges in New Orleans.

Each year, Propeller recruits between 10 and 15 early-stage ventures to participate in the accelerator program and to be showcased at Propeller’s largest annual event and fundraiser.

“Since June 2012, 12 Propeller-supported ventures have been working hard to improve the health and vitality of New Orleans through mobile dental clinics, expungement services, community vegetable and flower farms, wetlands kayak tours, and more,” announced Propeller. “Join us in raising a glass to these innovative problem-solvers who have created jobs, reached financial sustainability, and made measurable impact within our city — all within Propeller’s 10-month Accelerator Program.”

On May 23rd, the social innovators of New Orleans and their supporters will gather for the 2013 Propeller Gala. The Gala will be held at the Propeller Incubator at 4035 Washington Avenue. Investor hour will be from 6:00 and the gala will kick off at 7:00 pm for gala ticket holders.

Funds raised by the non-profit at the Gala will go towards next year’s accelerator program, to expand the Fellows Alumni program, and assemble pitch competitions throughout the year.
