Tech Unconference BarCampNola Celebrates 6th Year, Introduces BearCamp

BarCamp 6

BarCampNola is the free tech “un-conference” organized by attendees for attendees. Organizers are also pleased to announce the first ever BearCamp (see video below for details). The event, presentations and Hack Day will begin July 13, 2013 at 9:30 AM and run through Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 5:00 PM.

“BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. Users gather on the first morning, fill out note cards with presentation or discussion topics, and place them on the schedule for the day.”

There is no fixed scheduled or speaker list. Attendees have the freedom to listen, network and speak on whatever topics you are most passionate about. Presenting is encouraged, but not mandatory.

Topics typically revolve around technology, entrepreneurship and creative but other topics are welcome.

Neworleanstech.net wrote, “The experience of BarCampNola is one that will leave you re-energized whether you’re a newbie or a vet. Now a local tradition, BarCamp NOLA showcases the amount of talent and the sense of community that oozes out of the NOLA tech scene.”

BarCampNola is the New Orleans-flavored version of an international network of user-generated conferences called BarCamps.
